Santvana is a flowering of the IMS vision for the participation of the laity in the mission and the ministries of the Church. Santvana is essentially a lay movement started and nurtured by Fr. Dheeraj IMS in 1992. On 7 July 2003 His Grace, Archbishop Vincent M. Concessao of Delhi has canonically erected the Santvana Community as an association of the faithful. Ten members of the Santvana Community between the ages of 25 to 62 consecrated their lives for 10 years for the mission of Evangelization on 1 February 2004 at Delhi. Members of the Santvana movement come from various walks of life, singles and married who have come together to live as a Community and to strive together for a life of discipleship, to dedicate themselves to the mission of prayer and proclamation. They live and work at present in three communities at Delhi, Ranchi and Agra.
